 Adult Summer Reading Club

Begins May 30th   (registration)

Programs will be held on Mondays June 5,12,19,26

Beginning at 4 pm in the Library

This is a free program sponsored by the Library and opened to everyone


June 5th    “Independence Hall – what is it?” – presented by Jan Anderton.   We’ll hear all about this famous building and enjoy stimulating discussion and sample delicious refreshments. 

June 12th “What’s Up With Lady Liberty?” – presented by Janette Grossman.  Join us to learn the details of how this lady landed at the edge of our shore, hear about interesting historical fiction and enjoy hors d’oeuvres.

June 19th – “How was the U. S. Capitol building built?” – presented by Jane Heim.  The construction on this building began in 1793 – and work is still being done today.   We’ll discuss the architecture and symbolism in this famous landmark and enjoy some delicious treats.

 June 26th – “Why is the White House White?” – presented by Tina Peery.   This and other questions like “why is the oval office oval?” are just a few of the interesting facts we’ll learn at this the finale of the adult summer reading club.   Refreshments include recipes from this famous house.

Each program will also feature door prizes and refreshments.  The 3 grand prizes will be awarded at the final program on June 26th.    Drop in on    May 30th to register, pick up your reading log and check out great books!
